An off-duty New York Police Department (NYPD) officer shot himself in the face Thursday night at Levittown's Miller's Ale House, the Nassau County Police Department confirmed Friday morning.
The shot is believed to have been an attempted suicide, police said, but after being aided and transported to the hospital the officer is expected to live.
The officer has not been identified and no further information has been released.
