Quick action by first responders have apparently saved the life of a Bethpage man who suffered a heart attack while using a snow blower.

Nassau County police said they were called to help the man Friday about 11:30 a.m. The 66 year old was using a snow thrower outside his home on Joseph Avenue when he began to experience chest pains.

Nassau Police officers and Advanced Medical Technicians from the Second Precinct responded. The victim went into cardiac arrest and emergency personnel used a defibrillator re-establishing his heartbeat, police said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was admitted for evaluation and treatment.

No further information on the man's condition was available.
