Police: Levittown Man Arrested After Shooting Gun in Air

Michael Collier, 29, was arrested Friday morning and faces multiple charges, police said.

A Levittown man who shot his gun in the air early Friday morning was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, according to police. 

Police said that they received a call at 4:30 a.m. Friday for a man shooting a gun into the air in the vicinity of Twig Lane and Newbridge Road. While responding to the scene, police said they saw a man walking away from the area which fit the description of the subject. 

After an investigation, Michael Collier, 29, of Twig Lane, was placed under arrest without incident, police said. A .45 caliber handgun was found in his possession, according to police.

Collier is being charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree reckless endangerment.  He will be arraigned on Saturday, Jan. 11  at First District Court in Hempstead.
