Police: Man Punches, Robs Delivery Driver in Levittown

The man exited his vehicle and attempted to pay for the food with a counterfeit bill, police said.

A suspect that attempted to pay for a Chinese food delivery with a counterfeit $100 bill punched the delivery driver in the face and robbed him of an unknown amount of money, Nassau County Police said. 

The incident occurred on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 9:10 p.m. on Tanners Lane. Police said that a male white exited a black vehicle and approached the delivery driver, a 46-year-old male, attempting to pay for the food with the counterfeit bill.

The victim refused the payment and as he turned to leave, he was punched twice in the face which caused him to fall to the ground, police said.

The suspect then reached into the victim’s pockets and removed an unknown amount of money, police said. The suspect then fled east on Tanners Lane in the black vehicle, along with the food, police said.  

The victim was transported to a nearby local hospital by a Nassau County Police Ambulance and was treated for pain and dizziness.

The suspect is described as a male white in his thirties who was wearing a dark jacket. Detectives request that anyone with information regarding the above crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
