Police: Man Robs Asian Cafe of Levittown

The suspect got away with an unknown amount of money and pushed an employee who tried to stop him, police said.

Nassau County detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at Asian Cafe in Levittown on Wednesday night.

Police said that a male, 6 feet tall and 190 lbs., entered the restaurant, located at 176 Center Lane, at 9:25 p.m. and walked behind the counter, demanding money from the 31-year-old male employee.

When the victim tried to stop the robber, he was pushed away, police said. After taking an undetermined amount of money from the cash register, the subject fled on foot southbound on Center Lane, police said. No injuries were reported and there is no further description of the subject.

On Oct. 18, an attempted robbery occurred at the China Wok in Levittown. There were no reported injuries or proceeds in that incident. The suspect in that incident is described as 18 years of age, 6 feet tall, thin build, wearing a white shirt and a multi colored bandana. Police did not say whether or not the two incidents are related.
