Three teens were arrested Friday night after two of them allegedly kicked in car windshields near Village Green Park.
According to detectives, around 10:05 p.m., a 42-year-old male observed Alonzo Syska, 18, of Hempstead, and Michael Gruce, 18, of Levittown, kicking in the windshields of a taxi cab and several other cars in the vicinity of the Village Green Park located at 99 Walcott Road.
Second Precinct Police Officers responded and the defendants fled on foot, police said.
Gruce was located inside the Village Green Park with Anthony Tah-Kim, 18, of Hempstead and placed into custody, police said. Syska was located inside a fenced in pool area of the park that was closed and placed under arrest.
The incident comes just one week after the security camera of a Sugar Maple Road home caught footage of a group of teenagers vandalizing a car, with one teen kicking off the side view mirror and another slashing the back left tire.
Gruce was charged with two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree, criminal mischief in the second degree and being in the park after dark.
Syska was charged with two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, criminal trespass and being in the park after dark.
Tah-Kim was charged with being in the park after dark. All three defendants will be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
The arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
