Queens Village Men Arrested for String of Gas Station Robberies

The two men allegedly robbed Exxon Gas in Levittown, among others.

Nassau County Police have arrested two Queens Village men for a strong of gas station robberies in March 2013 around Nassau County, including one robbery in Levittown. 

According to detectives, Ravinder Dharamshot, 32, and Umair Farooq, 24, committed robberies at the following locations and times:

  • US Gas at 248-02 Jericho Turnpike, Bellerose Village – March 25 at 12:30 a.m.
  • BP Gas at 2298 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park – March 26, 2013 at 3:35 a.m.
  • Mobil Gas at 1021 Northern Blvd., Manhasset – March 28, 2013 at 3:15 a.m.
  • Shell Gas at 220 Mineola Ave., Roslyn Heights – March 28, 2013 at 3:35 a.m.
  • USA Gas at 356 Fulton St., Farmingdale – March 29, 2013 at 3:25 a.m.
  • Exxon Gas at 3285 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown – March 29, 2013 at 3:37 a.m.         

After an investigation the defendants were arrested on Dec. 11 at Rikers Island Correctional Facility.

Both men are charged with five counts of first degree robbery, one count of first degree attempted robbery, five counts of third degree robbery and one count of third degree attempted robbery. They were arraigned on Dec. 11 at Nassau County Court in Mineola.
