Story by Joe Dowd.

The recent wave of nearby prostitution arrests continued Monday when Nassau County Police accused two Flushing women with agreeing to engage in sex for money in Hicksville.

The Narcotics/Vice Bureau said the arrests were made shortly after 4 p.m. when Feng Li, 45 of 4333 Byrd Ave. and Yi Zhou, 45 of 13271 Maple Ave., Flushing, while working at 55 D Broadway in Hicksville, were seen practicing massage therapy without a license by undercover detectives.

The location is one block east of the Hicksville LIRR Station.
Both defendants also offered to engage in a sexual act with the detectives for an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Li and Zhou are both charged with prostitution and unauthorized practice of a crime. They will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police spokesmen have said that the recent rash of arrests, now numbering more than a dozen since the the beginning of the year in this part of Nassau County, is not part of some larger crackdown.

Just last week, Precious Griffin, 29, of 88-19 211th St., Queens, offered to perform a sexual act on an undercover detective for an agreed upon amount of money. The incident occurred at the Days Inn Motel, on South Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville. Griffin was arrested and charged with prostitution.

One police spokesman described the recent prostitution arrests as "good police work," and was the result of routine police efforts to discourage prostitution in the area.
