Adoptable Animal of the Week: Meet Candy

This playful dog (watch her play in her pool) is looking for a home.

Name: Candy

Case Number: #718

Hi, it's Candy again. It's been a little over a year since we last met but I'm still searching for my forever home. I'm now 3 years old, but just as sweet as my name implies.

I've been staying at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh. Click here to watch a video clip of me splashing around in the shelter's kiddie pool.

I'm a very happy dog. I am a terrier breed, but very gentle, friendly and good on a leash. I do have lots of energy, which makes me very good at my favorite game, fech. I also love getting belly rubs and I'm a bit of a ham when it comes to taking photos.

I've already been spayed and I'm up-to-date on all my shots. Please stop by the animal shelter to meet me and consider making me a part of your family.

To learn more about adopting Candy, please contact the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter at (516) 785-5220, or stop by the shelter, which is located at 3320 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh. Adoption hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. All adopted pets will be spayed or neutered, will receive all required innoculations and will be microchipped, all free of charge.

From June 20 to Sept 20, the shelter is running its "Summer of Love" promotion, which means all adoptions are free!
