Nassau County Legis. Dennis Dunne (R-Levittown) recently presented the MacArthur High School girls soccer team with a sign commemorating their state championship this past fall.
The Lady Generals clinched their first state title in November with a 1-0 victory over Arlington High School. They topped Calhoun in the Class AA County Championship and defeated Ward Melville in the Long Island Championship before reaching the state semifinals.
Dunne presented the Division Avenue High School baseball team with a similar sign after they won the Long Island Championship in the spring of 2011.
