A Levittown homeowner who is seeking several variances to a
former hair salon on Hempstead Tpke. had their hearing adjourned
to June 12 at 2 p.m. at the Board of Zoning Appeals meeting Wednesday morning.
The owner is requesting to the use the home for a retail
store and one apartment, which is not permitted in the LPRD district, as well
as requesting to waive off-street parking, a special exception to park in the front yard setback on Balsam
Lane and Hempstead Turnpike, among other requests.
While the front of the building is located in a commercial
area on Hempstead Tpke., the rear of the house is located on a residential
neighborhood on Balsam Lane.
