MacArthur Track Holds First Annual Hall of Fame Dinner

Two alumni inducted into the school's inaugural class.

Members of the Levittown MacArthur High School track and field teams, volunteers and members of the district’s administration and Board of Education recently attended the first annual Hall of Fame dinner hosted by the Mercury Club.

The purpose of these festivities was to not only celebrate the year’s victories, but to recognize alumni Jessica Balling and Sean Depuy, who are the first Levittown graduates to be inducted into the school’s inaugural Track and Field Hall of Fame.

Mercury Club President Jeffrey Archer explained to those in attendance that the club’s purpose is to serve as a financial arm for the track teams. Through fundraising efforts, the Mercury Club has provided the team with bins, 60 hurdles, a second long jump pit and scholarships.

“This [club] is for our student-athletes, to provide them with needs that are not included in the sports budget,” Mr. Archer said.
