Division Student's French Poem Honored
Division junior Katherine Darr has been selected as a winner in the Nassau region of this year’s Original Poetry Contest, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.
Katherine’s poem, “Rever est une chose merveilleuse,” was submitted to the advanced level of the competition, which includes students in any post-Regents course.
The original poem, written entirely in French, was presented at the regional finals on April 2 and was awarded honorable mention.
Her poem was one of only five selected in all of Nassau County to be considered for a prize.
