Newsweek Magazine recently named Island Trees High School among the top 1,000 secondary schools in America for 2012.
Ranked at No. 885, Island Trees was judged on criteria including the four-year, on-time graduation rate, the percentage of students accepted to college, and the average SAT score.
Also taken into consideration are the number of AP examinations taken per student population, overall scores on AP examinations, and the number of AP courses offered per student.
