MacArthur High School in Levittown has recently been named to Newsweek's America's Best High Schools list.
MacArthur, which according to Newsweek has an average SAT score of 1541, was ranked 338 out of 500 schools mentioned.
According to their website, each school’s score is comprised of six components: graduation rate (25 percent), college matriculation rate (25 percent), AP tests taken per graduate (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10%), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and AP courses offered (5 percent).
Newsweek has been compiling this list for over a decade and has enlisted a panel of experts to help create a formula for calculating the success of a high school.
