The Levittown Board of Education holds a regular meeting Wednesday night, 7:30 p.m. at the Levittown Memorial Education Center.
Here's a look at what's on tonight's agenda, courtesy of the Levittown schools website:
- The board will set the tax levy for the 2012-13 school year. "A total of $134,322,270 for the Levittown Union Free School District of the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York for the year 2012-13 be levied upon the taxable property of said school district as said property has been certified to by the Board of Assessors for the school year 2012-13."
- The board is expected to approve a motion for the guidelines for free and reduced price meal program policy.
- Approval of Grants - “RESOLVED, that the Superintendent of Schools be
authorized to file on behalf of the Levittown Union Free School District...an application for 2012-13 funding provided under the terms of the Federal Education Consolidated Application No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Title I, Title II – Part A, Title III – LEP, Title III – Immigrant, and Universal PreK.”
- Extension of Contract with Chartwells Food Service - Recommended Motion: “RESOLVED, that the Levittown Board of Education approve the Extension of Contract for School Food Service Management with Chartwells for the 2012-2013 school year, at an annual increase based on the New York Northeast CPI (Consumer Price Index) of 1.8%.”
