On Tuesday, Jan. 9, Town of
Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray visited
Island Trees
Memorial
Middle School to present an official citation to Mrs. Karen Stephens, who serves as both the district’s lead nurse and building nurse of
Memorial
Middle School.
Stephens was honored for her
quick response to a medical situation of a student and for making
recommendations on how to proceed. Mrs. Stephens’ recommendations to
the parents of the
student led to a successful surgery and helped save the child’s life.
Along with the Town of
Hempstead, the Island
Trees School District is extremely
proud of the work of Mrs. Stephens and we congratulate her for her
excellent care of our students. Congratulations!
