Division Girls Basketball Goes for Undefeated Season Friday

The girls can finish with a perfect 12-0 record Friday with a win over Plainedge.

The Division HS girls basketball team is just one win away from an undefeated season in their conference.

With a win Friday against Plainedge (4-6) at home, the girls will finish 12-0 in conference A-II and 15-2 overall. The girls only losses on the season have come against Freeport on Dec. 27 and Uniondale on Dec. 12, who are in conference AA-I.

The girls biggest win of the season came on Jan. 29 against second place Sewanhaka (9-2). Tiffany Rodriguez led the Dragons with 15 points in that game, with Kristin Aquila added12 points in the 53-42 victory.

Rodriguez was named to the All-Tournament Team earlier this year at the Freeport High School Holiday Tournament, while Aquila has been red hot all season long, scoring 18 and 19 points in two big conference wins over Bethpage.

The regular season finale is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday at Division HS.

wakeup kate 3 weeks ago I have watched 4 of these girls who have played together from middle school to high school Laura Stuart leaves it all on the floor. She will size you up then break you down. Taylor Calabrese does what a point guard should do. If your open she will get you the ball. Trish Mollo will be on the court looking like shes lost then BAM she will hit you for a quick 10 pts.Kristin Aquila will beat you anyway she needs to She can score ,rebound, block your shot and steal the ball. Before you know it she is heading the other way for a basket. When you have 1 of these girls on the court your team is in good shape .When 2 are on the court your in great shape. Put 3 of them on the floor and you wont have to worry. Put all of them on the floor together you wont need a coach as they are all skilled and blend together. They all know where the other one is on the court at all times. With the rest of the girls playing the way they can this team will go far
