Island Trees Lacrosse Players, Coaches Help Raise Money for Warriors

Island Trees lacrosse players and coaches were among the 3,000 people who recently participated in the 6th annual Run for the Warriors 5K, which was held on Sunday, Nov. 10.

This run helps raise money for the Hope for the Warriors charity organization.  The mission statement of the organization is to “enhance the quality of life for post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty."
Hope For The Warriors is dedicated to "restoring a sense of self, restoring the family unit, and restoring hope for our service members and our military families.”

The team was able to surpass their fundraising goal of $500 and helped contribute to a total of $198,374 raised.

"Thank you to all who donated!" said Charles Murphy, Island Trees Superintendent of Schools.
