During the Jan.
23 meeting of the Levittown Board of Education, the district’s trustees and
administrators congratulated a number of MacArthur High School coaches and
students for individual and group achievements during the fall season.
Coach Robert
Fehrenbach introduced three football players who stood out for their
exceptional talents. Joe Tangredi was the recipient of the Piner Award, which
recognizes the best linebacker in Nassau County. Anthony DeNunzio (defense) and
Thomas Kelleher (offense) were also designated as Newsday All-Long Island First
Team players.

The entire
football team was also recognized for the friendship bestowed on fellow
MacArthur student Brendan Gallagher. Brendan’s commitment to the team was the
inspiration for his designation as an honorary player.
The Board also
announced that Fehrenbach was named Nassau County Football Conference Coach of
the year. Coach Andrew Atkins was recognized as Nassau County Boys Soccer
Conference Coach of the Year, while coach Howard Greenblatt was introduced as
an inductee into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
The district
congratulates these outstanding student-athletes and coaches for their
accomplishments.
