After being named second team All-Long Island in December, and leading the team in tackles for the second straight season, MacArthur linebacker Joe Tangredi was named the Piner Award winner on Sunday as the county's top linebacker,
Newsday reported.
Tangredi continues MacArthur's tradition of outstanding linebackers. In 2010, linebacker Tom Joyce won the Thorp Award, given to Nassau County's best overall player, and in 2002 Gian Villante also won the Piner Award.
