MacArthur's Cheshire Named to All-State Sixth Team

The MacArthur senior made the team as a defensive back.

MacArthur senior Will Cheshire was the lone local representative on the New York State Sportswriter's Association's post-season All-State teams.

According to roadtosyracuse.com, Cheshire made the Class AA sixth team as a defensive back. He also played wide receiver for the Generals, who went 7-1 in the regular season before losing to Oceanside in the first round of the playoffs.

Cheshire had several big games on both sides of the ball for MacArthur in 2011. In a 35-0 win over Hempstead, he caught three touchdown passes and added an interception. Among his other touchdowns included catches against Plainview JFK and Syosset (an 80-yard score).

Cheshire was also named to the All-County and Academic All-Conference teams. is currently playing for the MacArthur boys basketball team.
