NAVIGATING SMALL CLAIMS COURT IS TOPIC OF OCTOBER COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING

Has someone caused damage to your property and refused to pay? Do you have clients who haven’t paid their bills? Undecided if you should pursue the small claims process to recoup losses? Have you received notice that you’re being sued in small claims court and have no idea what that means or what you should do?
Navigating small claims court will be the subject of the October 22 meeting of the Levittown Community Council. Attorney Deborah E. Kaminetzky will define the processes related to filing a claim in small claims court and what you can expect if you are the one being sued.
The meeting, which will be held at Levittown Memorial Education Center, 150 Abbey Lane, Levittown in the small board room, is free and open to the public.
Some of the topics Kaminetzky will cover include: What is Small Claims Court?; What Must Be Done Before I File A Claim?; Can I Sue For More Than $5,000 in Small Claims Court?; Can A Corporation Use Small Claims Court?
The Levittown Community Council brings together organizations and residents in the Levittown and Island Tress areas to maintain pride and unity in the community. For more information about the Levittown Community Council, contact President Bob Koenig at  516-796-3826.
