Golf Tourney Raises More Than $75K for Big Brothers Big Sisters of LI

The event was held on July 2 at the Muttontown Country Club.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) held their 16th Annual Golf Outing on July 2 at the Muttontown Country Club in East Norwich, and raised more than $75,000.

BBBSLI, based in Levittown, matches "bigs" and "littles" to form "meaningful, professionally supported matches." Their mission is to provide children facing adversity with "strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever."

Honoring Evan Leonard, President and Co-Founder of Chips Technology Group, LLC, the outing was attended by nearly 90 golfers and included 18 holes of golf, an on-course BBQ lunch, cocktail reception, gourmet buffet dinner and awards.

The event was attended by Little Brother Mahki and Big Brother Dan Williams who were the evening’s guest speakers.

“I am thankful to be a Little Brother and have met Dan,” said Mahki, who is 13.  “Thank you for making this possible, he’s not just cool and nice, he’s my real brother.”

A special thank you to this year’s honoree, Evan Leonard, and presenting sponsor, Chips Technology Group, LLC. The event is made possible by all our supporters and sponsors, who include: Broadridge, Competitive Events Group, ConnectWise, Dantona Industries Inc./Ultralast, The Diton Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Executive Business Association (EBA),  Kaseya, Lencore Acoustics Corp., New York Life, North Shore LIJ, The Rampart Group, The Sanders Firm, Twin Park Fitness, Velocity, and our founding sponsor, The Long Island Press.
