Story by Elizabeth Sobel.
Holiday spirit within
the Levittown School District was alive as the community came together recently
to collect toys, clothes and other gifts for local needy families.
The district’s
fourth annual Holiday Adopt-a-Family Program, again directed by Esta Lachow and
Gina Interdonato, resulted in 207 families receiving presents.
Follow Levittown Patch on Facebook. “This year we had 26
more families who needed our services,” Ms. Lachow stated. “This is the result
of hard times and the effects of Superstorm Sandy.”
Students, Board of
Education trustees and staff gathered on Dec. 17 at the Levittown Memorial
Education Center to wrap and organize the presents before the gifts were
brought to the recipients.
