UPDATE: Power Outages Reported in Levittown

Update: All power has been restored to Levittown customers as of 9 p.m. Monday.

Original Story: With strong winds just starting to pick up, seven Levittown households are already without power as of 5 p.m. Monday, according to the Long Island Power Authority's (LIPA) outage map.

Crews have been assigned to the area and the estimated restoration time for Levittown is 8 p.m. Other nearby towns that have been impacted include Hicksville, with 14 customers in the dark, and East Meadow, with 71 customers powerless.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for both Nassau and Suffolk counties until 10 p.m. this evening. Possible thunder and lightning, as well as winds gusting up to 38 miles per hour, are expected Monday evening.

You can report an outage online here. LIPA advises to never touch a downed wire or anything that has come in contact with a wire, and to keep others away. To report a downed power line, call LIPA immediately, anytime at 1-800-490-0075 or 1-631-755-6900.
