Eternal Con Returns to Long Island This Weekend

Eternal Con, Long Island’s Comic Con, is returning to the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City on June 14 and 15 for its annual convention. Celebrating all things comic books, gaming, sci-fi, cosplay, horror and pop culture, last year’s event saw over 3,000 attendees.

This year, for two days, among three floors and across 250 tables, Eternal Con will offer raffles, giveaways, costumes, a car show, movie screenings, and special guests, including X-Men: Days of Futures Past’s Daniel Cudmore, Once Upon a Time’s Rebecca Mader and Lee Arenberg and Brimstone, a locally based celebrity who launched his Levittown-based Hound Comics in 2010.

“It’s a really nice, diverse group of people expected to be there,” Brimstone said. “It’s going to be a really, really great event. It’s very exciting in the midst of everything. It’s a celebration of pop culture, and pop culture is exciting in itself.”

Additional offerings include a parade, movie prop displays, an art show, gaming tournaments, a cosplay contest, special performances, a vendor room and full access to the museum with paid admission.

“Basically, if you love old TV, new TV, comic books, anything pop culture…it’s a one stop shop,” Brimstone said. “Some people are big superhero fans. Well guess what, at the convention it’s Halloween every day. People are dressed up as their favorite superheroes and really enjoy themselves.”

Eternal Con will run the weekend of June 14 and will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The cosplay parade will be held on Saturday, June 14, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. For more information, and for directions to the Cradle of Aviation Museum, visit www.eternalcon.com.
