The former K-Mart in Levittown, located on the corner of Hempstead Tpke. and Gardiners Ave.

I cant believe the Town Of Hempstead lets the building sit as it does- since 2004- when they didntRead More let Charles Wang build on the Nassau Coliseum site. I feel this old K mart site is a horrible eyesore. I have mixed feelings about a Home Depot. Would be good to get some store there, its been too long.

Holding the lease since 2004 and still nothing? Shame on them. I like the idea above of using it asRead More indoor sports facility. Something the entire community could benefit from.

Great news!! It's about time that valuable piece of property was utilized, and what cold be betterRead More than a Home Depot being that handy to Levittown.

Good luck to the new owners. That location has seen a number of restaurants come and go in the lastRead More few years. I took a look at their menu online, which sounds really good, but the prices seemed a little high.

I was out March 16th to celebrate a friend's birthday in the city. On the way home around midnight,Read More from the LIE to the Northern and then to the Wantagh, I saw very little police activity, despite a number of very fast moving vehicles. No checkpoints either. Not sure where the 'places of concern' are, but I would have liked to have seen some more presence.
The old CVS is now vacant.

My monthly heating bill if I was using oil last month would have been around $800 but with gas thatRead More I now use for heat cooking and dryer was $171 can't beat that

Is there any way for National Grid to canvass residents to see how many of us residents would beRead More interested in conversion? I would love to have that option and I have a feeling there are many others who feel that way.

I'm confused about the "second home" on Sparrow Lane listing. Is it a second floor home?Read More I thought that Levittown only allows 'mother/ daughter' for RELATIVES to share a house as 2 seperate residences. That house sure looks like it could use a 'facelift' for the amount of money they're asking for it!! Where have all our little square boxes gone?? I grew up in Levittown... original owner (well, a 4 year old owner with a GI Dad). What a wonderful childhood growing up in Levittown back then. Had to be at least 50 kids + on EVERY block!! No one stayed indoors... life was played out doors. All the families had pretty much the same incomes, no one had much money, but no one cared!! We all made our own fun and we all felt blessed with what we had!! Neighbors shared whatever they had and you had FRIENDS no matter where you went in Levittown. Still love it here today... although it has changed SO much!
