There were no injuries, fire officials said.
The Wantagh Fire Department responded to a fire that started on the second floor of a single-family home at 40 Ring Lane on Saturday. According to Wantagh Assistant Fire Chief James Bloomfield, the fire started when people were in the house. "No one was hurt," he said. "We are still investigating what started the fire." Fire departments from Levittown and North Bellmore were on the scene.

The Eighth Precinct was absorbed by the Second Precinct this week, starting Ed Mangano's policing plan.
The first realignment in Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano's police precinct restructuring took effect this week after the Eighth Precinct in Levittown was absorbed by the Second Precinct in Woodbury. The former Eighth Precinct is now the county's first community policing center. Police say the 49-year-old has been missing since 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say they have found a 49-year-old Levittown woman who went missing earlier Tuesday. According to police, Lily Feng was declared missing at 4 a.m. Tuesday. Police sent out an alert at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday that she was found. No further details were released.

As previously reported by Patch, police have taken a man who barricaded himself inside of a Carriage Lane home into custody. Kenneth Lack, commanding officer for the Nassau County Police Department Public Information Office, told press at 2:45 p.m. Monday that the suspect has been taken into custody. Lack said the suspect is at the Nassau University Medical Center for evaluation. The defendant allegedly fled the scene of an accident before being stopped by state troopers.
A Levittown man was arrested Thursday night on the Wantagh State Parkway and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) after allegedly fleeing the scene of an accident. According to New York State Police, at 11:51 p.m., troopers from the State Police Farmingdale Station were dispatched to a report of an accident involving a black Ford Mustang on the Ocean Parkway near the Wantagh Parkway. The vehicle left the accident scene and was traveling northbound on the Wantagh Parkway when troopers stopped the vehicle, police said. While interviewing the vehicle operator, James Titone, 24, of Levittown, troopers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Negotiations between police union officials and the county have been successful throughout the last month.
Less than one month after Nassau County announced its decision to merge eight police precincts into four, police union officials claimed that public safety was being put at risk. They are singing a different tune, however, after recent negotiations with the county. Jim Carver, president of the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association (PBA), told Patch that the union and county came to a deal that will keep patrol units where they currently serve. Patrol units will now be assigned to one of the four corresponding community policing centers or one of the four precincts. Nassau County Police are charging a Hicksville man for an alleged assault at a Mallard Road home Tuesday. Police allege that they found the defendant, Michael Goettelman, 39, breaking and damaging items inside a Mallard Road home Tuesday while holding a knife. They arrested the defendant at the scene. Police also allege that Goettelman later repeatedly kicked the door of the holding cell he was held in. They allege that he eventually kicked the door open and that the door allegedly struck a police officer above his right eye. The officer was treated and released at a local hospital for a laceration that required several stitches. Goettelman was also transferred to a local hospital for observation.
