Frank Barning, Neighbor

Frank Barning was in the first graduating class of Division Avenue High School, 1960. He was granted a B.A. in 1964 by Hofstra University.  His real education, sorry Hofstra, was working part-time in the Newsday sports department for three years while in college.  There he found mentors and learned the rudiments of the journalism profession.  He owned and edited Baseball Hobby News, 1979-93 and was in the baseball card business for 25 years.  He is a member of the National Sports Collectors Convention's hall of fame. Now retired and living in Las Vegas, he blogs Early Levittown NY and Beyond, and Barnstorming with Frank Barning.
