Dozens of community and labor advocates will gather outside the site of a new Walmart store opening in Levittown to protest again the company’s expansion. The Walmart is opening on the same site that a unionized Waldbaums closed the year before. Protestors will call for the creation of good union jobs, but are also standing in solidarity with Walmart associates all over the country who are working off their jobs this week in protest. Who: Long Island Jobs with Justice, UFCW/RWDSU Local 338, UFCW Local 1500, UFCW Local 2013, Long Island Federation of Labor Where: 3335 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown, New York When: Friday, June 7th at 12:00 Noon
