Construction on Zwanger Pesiri Expected to Begin in Spring
The lot has been empty since 2011, when the former Israel Community Center building was knocked down.
The permitting process for Zwanger Pesiri's new location in Levittown should be completed in about a month with construction expected right after then, Hempstead Town Councilman Gary Hudes announced at February's property owners meeting.
"We'll be into the warmer weather at that point, and we expect them to start construction on the facility then," Hudes said.
The new Radiology practice will be located at the site of the former Israel Community Center on Hempstead Tpke., which was knocked down in 2011. The lot was later used temporarily by Levittown Ford, located just west of the property.
Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology has locations in Merrick, Massapequa, Plainview, Lindenhurst, Smithtown, West Islip, East Setauket and Medford.
