Vacant in Levittown: Industry Nightclub

Located just east of Loring Road on Hempstead Turnpike, Industry Nightclub was once a staple of college nightlife in Levittown, but all that changed when the venue lost its cabaret permit last summer.

For several years, the facility located at 2686 Hempstead Tpke., operated under the names 2686, then Shy and then Industry starting in September 2010. Safety issues sparked after a shooting in June of 2011 and created a bit of controversy when owners tried to renew their proper permits come that August.

Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray and Councilman Gary Hudes announced the denial to town residents in a letter dated Aug. 11, 2011. Since then, the nightclub has remained untouched.
