Fire at Chinese Food Restaurant Damages Neighboring Storefronts
Fire breaks out at Fu Mei Kitchen causing heavy damage.
Levittown firefighters and several other neighboring departments battled a fire at Fu Mei Kitchen on Division Avenue early Sunday morning.
According to fire officials at the scene, there was heavy damage to the Chinese food restaurant as well as water and smoke damage to neighboring stores. As a result several nearby businesses were without electricity, police stated.
The fire apparently started at the plexi-glass front window and burned upward into the restaurant, causing severe damage. There were no injuries reported.

The investigation is ongoing by the Arson/Bomb Squad and the Nassau County Fire Marshall.
Lombardo's Pizza, located next door to Fu Mei Kitchen, was closed on Monday due to the damage sustained in the fire. A manager at Lombardo's declined to comment Monday.
