Levittown Girls Soccer Team Takes First Place in Tournament

The Levittown Shooting Stars U-7 girls soccer team recently took first place in the 25th annual Columbus Day Tournament, held on Oct. 12.

The girls finished with two wins and a tie, showing great hustle and sportsmanship, said coach Chris Petrellese. The tournament is made up of intramural teams that play on Long Island.

"The goal for these tournaments is for the girls to go out and have fun," said Petrellese. "Also, in these tournaments, they get to exchange patches with the other teams and now can start making their own collection."

The Levittown team is made up of girls from Levittown and Wantagh who play in the Levittown Soccer Club on different intramural teams.

The girls played against teams from Syosset, Albertson and East Meadow, and didn't allow a single goal to be scored on them.
