Developer says that the building will only be used as office space and they are planning for a September opening.

Updated Friday 12 p.m.

The vacant North Levittown Lanes building is currently undergoing renovations to be used as office space, a Town of Hempstead official told Patch.

100 Schoolhouse Road on the Village Green closed down in 2011 after 57 years in business. Owner Frank Mormando currently operates South Levittown Lanes, located at 56 Tanner Lane.

D&F Development Group, based in Lake Success, is currently performing the interior alterations to use part of the building as their office space. It has not yet been decided what will happen to the rest of the building.

Peter G. Florey, a co-founder and partner at D&F, told Patch that they will be working with the community and their design team to determine the best use for the other portion of the building. He said they are excited to finish the renovations for the offices and are planning for a September opening.

“We’ve been looking and it was a good fit and an opportunity for us,” he said. “It’s a nice place for our offices.”
