#9 Funeral Services Set for Anthony D'Alessandro - The 16-year-old Levittown teen was unfortunately struck and killed crossing Hempstead Tpke. back in April.

#8 Schools on Lockout Due to Nearby Police Situation - On April 30, police took a man who barricaded himself inside of a Carriage Lane home into custody.  Summit Lane Elementary School and Division Avenue High School were locked out as a precautionary measure.

#7 Walmart Market to Replace Vacant Walbaum's in Levittown - Patch found out in August that a Walmart supermarket is scheduled to replace the vacant Walbaum's building. The story drew a ton of interest and mixed opinions from readers.

#6 Fire at Chinese Food Restaurant Damages Neighboring Storefronts - Levittown firefighters and several other neighboring departments battled a fire at Fu Mei Kitchen on Division Avenue back in July. The fire caused heavy damage to Fu Mei as well as water and smoke damage to neighboring stores. Fu Mei has been closed but plans on re-opening in 2013.

#4 Residents Report Teen Violence, Recklessness - A Youtube video surfaced in March called "Levittown Beatdown" which shows a group of kids beating up a teen. The fight took place one month after residents at a Neighborhood Watch meeting expressed concerns over local teen violence.

#3 Grossane: D'Alessandro "Well-Liked and Respected" - Levittown's Superintendent paid tribute to the teen killed while crossing Hempstead Tpke. Grossane praised D'Alessandro's spirit, calling him a popular figure among students and teachers alike.

#2 Levittown Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident - Joseph Brill died after his motorcycle collided with a car on Jerusalem Avenue in May. The 27-year-old was riding a 2000 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Jerusalem Avenue was the accident occurred.

#1 Police Identify Teen Killed on Hempstead Turnpike - On April 5, police said a 61-year-old female was driving a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country minivan westbound on Hempstead Turnpike around 9 p.m. when she struck D'Alessandro. The teen was transported by police department ambulance to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:50 p.m.
